Tango Sur is a longtime Chicago Argentine restaurant and one of several related hospitality brands I’ve worked with over the years, including Folklore, Bodega Sur and Barra Ñ.
My work with the group has gone well beyond a single website. Over time I’ve helped with the web presence for all four restaurants, photographed three of the locations, and created a variety of print and promotional materials including menus, posters, postcards and business cards.
Today my ongoing work is focused primarily on Tango Sur.
The Work
Tango Sur originally had a WordPress website, but as the needs of the restaurant became simpler, I moved the site to Carrd.
The change made sense for a restaurant site that mainly needs to communicate essential information clearly and reliably: the restaurant identity, menu, location, hours, contact information and other details customers need before visiting.
The broader relationship has included:
- Website design and maintenance for Tango Sur, Folklore, Bodega Sur and Barra Ñ
- Migration of Tango Sur from WordPress to Carrd
- Photography at three restaurant locations
- Menu design
- Posters and promotional graphics
- Postcards
- Business cards
- Ongoing updates and design support
The photography also gave the restaurants a library of original imagery that could be reused across websites and printed materials instead of relying on unrelated stock photography.
Result
What began as website work developed into a long-term relationship covering multiple restaurants and multiple parts of their visual presence.
For Tango Sur, moving from WordPress to Carrd resulted in a simpler website that better matches what the business currently needs and is easier to maintain.
The larger body of work shows how I often work with small businesses over time: not just building a website once, but helping with the mix of web, photography, print and ongoing updates that a real business continues to need.
